To stay competitive with professional rental agencies, we automatically apply discounts to the rental price starting on the 2nd rental day (from 24,5 hours onwards). (The price per extra mile stays the same regardless of the rental’s duration. Click here for more information about mileage.)

Viewing your discounts

To see your car’s long duration discounts, go to its price settings > click on “Price for other durations” > click on the section that says “2 days / 1 week / 1 month.” Here you’ll see the discounts applied for 2 days, 1 week, and 30 days. Based on those discounts, we use a progressive linear calculation to determine the discounts that will apply for other durations. To see them, click on “other durations” at the bottom of the page.

Editing your discounts

Only for cars outside the UK: You can modify the discount rates for 2 days, 1 week, and 1 month within a certain minimum and maximum value. To increase the likelihood of drivers booking your car, we suggest applying our recommended discount rates, which are based on the type of vehicle (van or not a van) and whether it’s equipped with Getaround Connect.

Cars in all countries: You can’t deactivate the long duration discounts, but you can set a maximum rental duration in your car’s rental conditions, if you wish.

The maximum and minimum discounts you can set for your car are as follows:

For vehicles registered in any country except the UK or Norway:

Discount at 2 days: between 10% MIN and 49% MAX
Discount at 7 days: between 25% MIN and 85% MAX
Discount at 30 days: between 35% MIN and 96% MAX

For vehicles registered in Norway:

Discount at 2 days: between 0% MIN and 49% MAX
Discount at 7 days: between 5% MIN and 85% MAX
Discount at 30 days: between 25% MIN and 96% MAX

For vehicles registered in the UK: Discounts cannot be modified.
