Founded in 2009 by Sam Zaid, Jessica Scorpio and Elliot Kroo, Getaround is the leading car sharing platform worldwide, available in the USA, France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Norway and the UK. The Getaround app allows drivers to find a car nearby, open it with their smartphone and drive away. With vehicles locally crowdsourced from private and dedicated fleet owners, the service includes fully comprehensive insurance with Allianz and 24/7 roadside assistance.

Car sharing is increasingly becoming the efficient alternative to owning a car, and promotes a more sustainable use of cars in cities. Moreover, by sharing the existing cars, we help cities to free up urban space that cars currently occupy.

In April 2019, Getaround acquired Drivy, the biggest carsharing platform in Europe, and Nabobil, the leading carsharing platform in Norway. Nowadays, more than 400 people work at the company with one unique vision: a world where all cars are shared.
