Offering delivery

Article updated on 03/21/2024

Once your listing is active, you have the option to offer the delivery of your vehicle, either for free or for a fee. This functionality is not available for Getaround Connect cars.

What is delivery?

Your listing includes the main address of your vehicle, i.e., the address where your vehicle is available for reservation by renters. In addition to this address, you can provide additional addresses in key locations (airport or train station) near the main address of your car. This allows renters searching for a car departing from a train station or airport to see your car in the search. Keep in mind that you'll need to bring the car to the train station or airport specified in your listing that the renter has chosen.

To allow you to maintain control of your calendar, know that instant booking will not be activated if the renter chooses an address other than your main address. You will need to manually accept each reservation request from a renter who has requested the car to be delivered to a key location. Additionally, renters cannot rent your car less than a day in advance and if their rental period is less than 2 days. This way, you'll have time to get to the train station or airport specified in your listing that the renter has chosen.

You can choose to offer delivery for free or charge fees up to 200 euros. These fees will be added to the rental price you have set. If you have set a price for delivering your car, you will receive 90% of that amount to cover the costs associated with picking up and returning the vehicle. To set the right delivery price, we recommend observing the prices of competitors in the chosen delivery locations. If your rental price with delivery is too high, you may receive few or no requests.

Delivery Instructions

By offering the delivery of your car, you commit to delivering it to the address(es) specified in your listing. It is strictly prohibited to ask renters to go to a delivery location not specified in your listing or to require them to bear the travel expenses to go to an unspecified location in the listing.

The coverage provided by Getaround does not extend before the start or after the end of the rental period. This means that the car is not protected by Getaround's insurance before the renter takes possession of the vehicle or after they return the car to the owner. Owners must ensure that the vehicle is properly covered by appropriate insurance outside of rental periods to avoid any issues in case of an incident or accident. Generally, this coverage is included in your private insurance coverage as a business trip. However, we recommend checking with your insurance company to confirm.

The insurance coverage provided for rentals begins and ends when the renter takes possession and returns the car. Consequently, the delivery of the vehicle will be covered by the insurance policy you have taken out. In this regard, we remind you that your car must be insured year-round at a minimum of third-party liability.
