Understanding the mileage allowance

The included mileage depends on the length of your rental.

Rentals lasting 8 hours or less:

  • 40 km (24 miles in the UK) included for the first hour
  • Plus 20 km (12 miles in the UK) for each additional hour

Rentals that are longer than 8 hours

  • 200 km (120 miles in the UK) included per day, with a maximum of 1200 km (or 600 miles).

For example:

  • A 3-hour rental includes 80 km (or 48 miles in the UK)
  • A 2-day rental includes 400 km (or 240 miles in the UK)
  • A 30-day rental includes 1200 km (or 720 miles in the UK)

There’s no limit to how many kilometres or miles you can drive during your rental, but if you exceed the included distance, you’ll be charged for the extra kilometres/miles after your trip ends.

The price per extra km or mile is set by Getaround, and depends on the car category as well as the country of the rental:

In France, Belgium, Germany and Austria:

  • 0.19€ for category eco
  • 0.23€ for category comfort
  • 0.31€ for category premium
  • 0.64€ for category luxury (only available in France)

In Spain:

  • 0.16€ for category eco
  • 0.19€ for category comfort
  • 0.25€ for category premium

In Norway:

  • Kr 2.50 for category eco
  • Kr 3.50 for category comfort
  • Kr 4.50 for category premium

In the UK:

  • 0.23£ per mile for category eco
  • 0.25£ per mile for category comfort
  • 0.39£ per mile for category premium

For example: You rent a car for one day, so you have 200 km included, but you end up driving 230 km. After your trip, you’ll be charged for the extra 30 km driven, according to the price set by Getaround.

If you drive less than the included mileage, you won’t be refunded for the unused kilometres or miles.
